The Cairo Radio, in a broadcast commenting on the Presidential elections in the United States, today warned that whether Nixon or Kennedy is elected President, neither of them would be able to swerve the United Arab Republic from its policy of keeping the Suez Canal closed to Israel.
The broadcast attacked both Presidential candidates, charging them with “competition to gain Zionist votes.” It emphasized that pledges with regard to the Arab-Israel issue, made during the last few days by each of the Presidential candidates, would be ignored by the Arabs no matter which of the candidates would come out victorious today in the elections.
