Nathan Neta Harpaz, 80, one of the founders of Achdut Ha-Avoda, the forerunner of the labor movement of Palestine and later Israel, died last night at his home. He was a member of the first Knesset from 1949-51. Born in Poland he came to Israel–then Palestine–in 1908 as one of the “second aliya.” He was founder of the Agricultural Center, was a member of the National Committee of the Jewish Population in Palestine, a member of the Zionist Central Committee and a member of Mapai and labor bodies.
