Nathan Straus, famous American-Jewish philanthropist, who returned on Tuesday from England where he had gone to recuperate after the death of his wife in the Spring, declared himself to be satisfied with the peace that has been effected in American Zionism as a result of the convention held recently in Cleveland. Mr. Straus, who is 82, was taken from the “Olympic” in a wheel chair and placed in a private ambulance which took him to his estate at Mamaroneck.
“I am happy to hear that the Zionists of America are united, and I hope that the entire Jewish people will forever remain united for the upbuilding of Eretz Israel,” said Mr. Straus, when he was told of the peace pact of Cleveland.
