The full sum of $120,000, desired for the new University in Exile, has been pledged to provide employment for two years for fifteen German professors dismissed by the Nazi government, according to the current issue of The Nation. The magazine made a plea for a further sum of $1,200,000 to extend the proposed university work for one year and to secure positions for the entire membership of 300 scholars whom the Hitlerites have displaced.
