A plan, nation-wide in scope, for education in inter-group relations to be launched immediately under the direction of the National Conference of Jews and Christians, has been formally approved by the executive board of the organization.
Recommendations submitted by the conference co-chairmen, Newton D. Baker, Professor Carlton J. H. Hayes and Roger W. Straus, with regard to a conference budget, were adopted and announcement was made of an effort to secure financial support for scheduled activities, in the amount of $100,000.
Plans for securing a considerable portion of this amount in the metropolitan district, it was announced, have already been perfected. A score of prominent Catholics, Protestants and Jews are cooperating in the campaign for funds including: Ernest B. Warriner, Judge Joseph M. Proskauer, William B. Conklin, Max Kohler, Samuel D. Leidesdorf, James M. Speers, Wolfgang Schwabacher, Jerome Lewine, W. O. Riordan and H. A. Clinkunbroomer.
