A budget of $551,500 for 1949 was announced today by the National Council of Jewish Women. The figure represents an increase of More than $80,000 over the organization’s budget for last year and is the largest budget in the history of the Council.
Mrs. Joseph M. Welt, president of the organization, today sent a message to President Truman, lauding him for authorization of the $100,000,000 loan to Israel announced this week by the Export-Import Bank and emphasizing that the loan “constitutes a major contribution to economic well-being and peace in Israel and throughout the Middle East.”
