More than 800 delegates from 240 cities are attending the biennial convention of the National, Council of Jewish Women which opened here today. The convention will conclude Thursday evening following the election of national officers for the next two years.
Mrs. Moise S. Cahn, national president of the organization, addressing the opening session, analyzed the work of the NCJW and set the perspective for its future work. The NCJW is the oldest major Jewish women’s group in the United States. The convention will deal with programs of activity on civil liberties, public school education, immigration policy, local welfare and health projects, Israel, the United Nations, and welfare services to Jewish communities in other countries.
