Governor Theodore R. McKeldin of Maryland today announced the formation of a National Sponsors’ Committee for the America-Israel Society consisting of leaders of American art and science, music, literature, the theatre and films, religion, education, labor and industry.
The Governor, as president of the America-Israel Society, called attention to the fact that the sponsors’ committee includes persons of many faiths and origins from all sections of the United States.
“I believe that these distinguished men and women, in joining together for the advancement of cultural interchange between our country and Israel, to which the Society is dedicated, are demonstrating to the peoples of both countries and to the world that Americans practice what we preach in rising above differences to support worthwhile objectives,” Governor McKeldin said.
