A gift of $50,000 by the Beaumont Foundation to the National Jewish Hospital at Denver was announced here during the week-end at a ?stimonial dinner for Morton J. May, vice-president of the hospital. In addition, ?me 2,000 business men from all parts of the country who attended the dinner con?ributed over $120,000.
This was the second contribution of $50,000 from the Foundation this year. The fund was created by Commodore Louis D. Beaumont, who, with Mr. May’s father, David, founded the national May Department Store chain. Sen. Alben W. Barkley, Senate ?inority leader, the chief speaker, lauded the work of the hospital, which is a non-?ectarian institution.
