American Jewry’s participation in Israel’s economic growth will be the theme of the third annual National Economic Conference for Israel which will be held at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington from Saturday evening September 26, through Monday, September 28, it was announced today by Julian B. Venezky, chairman of the executive committee of the Israel bond organization. The conference will be sponsored by State of Israel Bonds.
The New Jersey State Federation of Labor, AFL, representing hundreds of union locals, this week-end officially began a special campaign to obtain $500,000 in subscriptions to the State of Israel Bond Issue “to aid Israel in its economic struggle,” it was reported today. It was also, announced that former Vice-President Alben W. Barkley and Senator Alexander Wiley, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will visit synagogues during the High Holy Days in behalf of the State of Israel Bond Issue.
