The National Jewish Welfare Board, parent organization of 350 affiliated Jewish community centers and the government-authorized agency for religious and morale services to Jewish servicemen and hospitalized veterans, honored its first director, Samuel A. Goldsmith, at a luncheon here of welfare leaders from the Chicago area.
Mr. Goldsmith, present director of the Jewish Federation of Chicago, received a citation in the form of an embossed resolution recently passed by the organization’s board of directors. The presentation was made by JWB national president, Charles Aaron of Chicago.
