The possibility of a further postponement of the effective date of the National Origins provision of the immigration law or of amendments to the provision has been suggested in recent communications received by the Senate Committee on Immigration.
This was announced through the office of Senator Johnson of California, chairman of the Commitee.
A suggestion has been made to the Senate Committee by Dr. Joseph A. Hill, assistant to the Director of the Census, who has had charge of the statistical staff which has been engaged for several years in working out the quota allotments, for the creation of a continuing commission or other Governmental agency which would have power to make revisions of the quotas as new information might be disclosed to justify such changes.
Herman P. Koppleman of Hartford, Conn. was nominated for United States Representative by the Democratic Party at the Connecticut State Convention. Mr. Koppleman was former state senator to the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Mr. Koppleman was recently chosen to head the Hartford Y. M. H. A. and Y. W. H. A. drive for new membership.
