George R. Strauss, Labor M.P., said in the House of Commons today that Nazi propagandists were actively fomenting enmity in Cuba against both Great Britain and the United States.
He asked Sir John Reith, Minister of Information, if the British Government was aware of the success of German propaganda in Cuba and if Great Britain would consult with the United States to fight German influence there.
The British Government is aware, Sir John replied, of German efforts in Cuba, but believes they have had little effect. He asked Strauss to give the Government any information he might have on the subject. It would be improper, Sir John said for the British to ask the neutral United States to help in acquainting Cuba with the Allied viewpoint.
