The Central Alliance of German Americans, influenced by the League of Friends of New Germany, has sent to members and friends of German organizations an appeal to “boycott the boycotters,” it was learned here yesterday.
The Central Alliance is a league of German societies within Pennsylvania which has, it is understood, connections with a number of organizations in other states. It has long been regarded as being under the control of the Nazis
The Central Alliance passed a resolution at its annual convention in Scranton on may 20 which fully recognized the effects of the boycott on the sale of German goods and which provided for an “energetic boycott” against all enemies of Germany. The resolution urged members of represented societies to buy only from shops which do not boycott German wares.
A copy of the resolution was sent to President Roosevelt.
