Five months imprisonment was imposed today upon a member of the Nazi Storm Troops, Kurt Kirchner, for dragging a fifteen year old Jewish boy through the streets.
The sentence was imposed by the Criminal Court and is causing some surprise because of its comparative lightness. Similar incidents of a political character are at present being handled by special emergency courts while heavy sentences, involving many years of imprisonment are usually inflicted, it is pointed out.
The Nazi dragged the youth through the streets brandishing a knife over him and shouting: “I am going to apply Hitler’s force and slaughter the dirty Jews!”
The boy was saved from the Hitlerite by the police and Kirchner was arrested.
