Joss Hellings, the Belgian Nazi who led a drive to oust Jews from the domestic diamond trade, has been barred from the Diamond Dealers’ Club of Belgium, which amounts to elimination from the industry.
The expulsion decision was taken by the club on the ground that Hellings’ anti-Semitic activities were harmful to the diamond trade. Only members of the club can obtain credit in Belgium’s diamond exchanges.
