Satisfaction over the “imminent extinction of the Jewish race in the old Austrian capital” was expressed tonight by the Neueste Wiener Nachrichten. The newspaper pointed out that the number of Jewish births in Vienna had dropped from an average of 650 in recent years to 548 in 1938 and 39 in the first quarter of 1939.
