The barring of the Jews from the public baths and swimming resorts throughout Germany has been undertaken for the good of the Jews themselves, the Voelkischer Beobachter, Hitler’s own newspaper, declares today.
Following the ban on Jews at the Wannsee lakeside, Berlin’s most popular resort, and the prohibition of the Munich beaches to the Jews, the Beobachter explains that the sight of “swarms of well-to-do Jews naturally excites the German workers and causes ugly incidents.” Therefore, the paper concludes, it is best for the Jews not to show themselves in the beach resorts.
