Sweeping revisions in every branch of German legislation along Nazi lines were forecast today by the Angriff, a Nazi organ, following a conference of jurists and university professors on “The Jew in Jurisprudence.”
Speeches delivered at the two-day parley in the German Law Front House will be published in book form and distributed to all libraries and public institutions, it was announced by Dr. Karl Schmidt, State Councillor of Justice, who presided at the sessions.
The Frankfurter Zeitung pointed out that thirteen — a majority — of the speeches delivered at the conference were directed against the Jews. It commented that very few professors and jurists of the older generation were seen among the participants.
The delegates, at the closing session, took an oath to carry out the program of Dr. Hans Frank, Nazi Commissar for Jurisprudence, for purging jurisprudence of all Jewish influences and preventing citations from Jews’ legal commentaries.
The conference also pledged to “devote ourselves unreservedly to the fight against the Jews.”
Closing addresses stressed that “the conference is the turning point in Germany’s entire judicial life and in the fight against the Jews.”
