The important aid given Britain by the Jews to consolidate its strategic position in the Near East is stressed in an article in the Berliner Boersen Zeitung.
The paper declares that with the aid of Zionists and new Jewish industry, Britain has been able to construct new highways and airdromes which strengthened its military position in the Eastern Mediterranean. The paper gives credit to Jewish economic enterprise by pointing out that Haifa has grown from a tiny port under the Turks to the greatest port in the Eastern Mediterranean. This port was bombed by Italian planes on July 8.
