An attack on the Universal Service, American news agency, for reporting that no quarters had been prepared for American athletes who were slated to participate in the Winter Olympic Games at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, is published in Der Angriff and other German newspapers.
The article, sent out by the Deutsche Nachrichten Bureau, official German news agency, states in part as follows:
“Apparently irritated by the fact that the Jewish campaign (against participation) has failed in the United States, the Berlin correspondent of Universal Service is now starting a new anti-Olympic campaign.”
The correspondent referred to is William Schirer who has just returned from an inspection tour of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
