Dr. Karl Ott, former official in the Nazi Propaganda Ministry, has been named Secretary of Interior of the state of Lower Saxony, it was reported here today. Karl entered the Goebbels ministry in 1933 and ended up as head of its financial branch in 1945.
A Munich court today withdrew a warrant for the arrest of Karl Diekow, convicted perjurer who was the main witness against the late Philip Auerbach and who was sentenced to serve a one-year term for perjury in another case. No reason for vacating the warrant was given.
Herbert Bischoff, former Gestapo member, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a German court at Kassel for murdering a Jewish physician named Lindemann in Upper Silesia in 1934. During his trial the Gestapo stalwart boasted that he had always been an anti-Semite and that he had not changed his views in any way.
