The Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, president of the German Red Cross, has suddenly left Tokyo for New York, it was reported here today. He is now aboard the Japanese steamship Asama Maru en route to San Francisco. The Duke, who was scheduled to remain in Tokyo for a long stay, left after being there only a week, and French newspapers expressed the belief that the purpose of his trip to the United States was not limited to Red Cross affairs.
