Ninety-six tombstones were smashed last night in the Hamburg Jewish cemetery by unknown hooligans. Last week nineteen tombstones in the same cemetery were desecrated. The Hamburg Jewish community has offered a reward for the apprehension of the criminals.
At the same time fifty-four headstones in the Jewish cemetery at Paderborn were destroyed by vandals. The Nazi mayor of Paderborn characterized the affair as “a shocking crime.”
