The Nazi Evangelist church organ, Positive Christianity, appealed today to the Nazis to call off their anti-Bible movement on the ground that their statements were used abroad against Hitler.
The paper declared that the Bible question is purely religious and did not concern “the so-called educators, who are not even Christians.”
Appealing for more tact in making statements, the paper warned that the “irresponsible words” of the anti-Bible leaders were taken abroad as the official opinion of the Third Reich.
A group of Nazi educators had made a statement to the press demanding that the Bible be banned in Germany as “dangerous literature.”
