The German-controlled Polish press reaching here today reports that a number of Jews who escaped from the Warsaw ghetto before it was razed by the Wehrmacht are being sheltered in the homes of friendly Poles in the neighborhood. The Nazi papers demand that the names of Poles assisting Jews be turned in to the authorities.
Other information reaching here from Poland today disclosed that units of the so called Russian Army of Liberation, formed by the traitor general Vlassov, under Nazi supervision, participated in crushing the resistance of the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. A report to this effect was delivered at meeting of German occupation officials in the former summer residence of Poland’s president on July 18, according to this information.
