Anti-Semitism made another appearance at world famous Goettingen University today when Nazi swastikas were smeared all over a student bulletin board on which a group of students had posted a notice of a series of lectures on anti-Semitism. The lecturer will be Prof. Peter Josef Kessler. a prominent Protestant theologian.
An Essen court today sentenced a German to four months in prison, but suspended sentence and placed him on parole, for having insulted a Jew. The defendant told the wife of a Jew that "All Jews should have been gassed. That one probably was overlooked."
An East German court at Restock has sentenced a leading German scientist for defaming the Communist state and for making anti-Semitic remarks, it was reported here today. The court imposed a year’s sentence, subsequently suspended, on Prof. Franz von Stockert, director of the Neurological Clinic at the University of Rostock. Though he went to East Germany to take the post, Prof, von Stockart maintained his West German citizenship.
