Nazi circles are demanding the dismissal of Max Friedlaender, famous art expert and director of the State Painting Gallery.
The Nazis make as their pretext for the demand against Friedlaender, who is a Jew, the allegation that he utilized for party purposes a fund created in 1927 on the occasion of his sixtieth birthday.
Friedlaender, it is learned, is so aroused by the Nazi allegations, that he is planning to resign. The General Director of State Museums, Wilhelm Woetzold, however, is determined to publicly denounce the Nazi allegations as lies, in an effort to prevent Friedlaender from resigning.
