The synagogue in Strasbourg, Alsace-Lorraine, a city from which all Jews have been expelled, is in the process of demolition, according to an article in the Strasbourger Neuste Nachrichten, reaching here today. The article is devoted to the “inglorious past of the town under the regime of the Kaiser when Judaism was one of the religions officially recognized by the State.”
Revealing that the dome of the synagogue, famous as one of the most imposing buildings in the city, had already been removed, the article states that the Nazi authorities have decided not to convert the synagogue to any other purpose but to pull down the building and use the site as a parade ground where “columns of Strasbourg National Socialists will soon be marching to seal the final union with the greater Reich which liberated Europe from the Jews.”
