The deportation of all Jews from Katovice, Sosnowiec and Bedzin, three of the larger cities in Nazi-occupied Poland, was reported today on the basis of reliable information reaching here from the underground movement in Poland.
All the Jews of Katovice have been “evacuated” to an unknown destination and nothing more is known of them, the report stated. In Sosnowiec and in Bedzin the 20,000 Jews who were residing there were ordered to leave their dwellings and proceed to ghettos situated in neighboring villages. The peasant in these villages were “removed” by the Nazis in order to completely isolate the Jews.
