Counteracting the order issued last Saturday by Dr. Hjalmer Schacht, economic dictator of Germany, not to interfere with Jewish business firms in trading with Christmas gifts and novelties, the Voelkischer Beobachter, official organ of the Nazi party, came out today with a warning to party members not to take this order seriously.
“The order of Dr. Schacht has nothing to do with the orders issued by the National Socialist party and the organizations affiliated to abstain from patronizing Jewish enterprises,” the newspaper which is owned by Adolf Hitler, declared.
The warning of the Voelkischer Beobachter is published side by side with the text of Dr. Schacht’s order. It is given in heavy type with the deliberate aim to nullify the effect of Dr. Schacht’s order and to make clear to members of the Nazi party that it will be held against them if they will be seen shopping in Jewish stores.
