The German authorities in Holland were reported here today to be hunting for some 70,000 Jews who are presumed to be hiding to escape commitment to concentration camps and ultimate deportation.
According to the newspaper Vrij Nederland, London organ of the Netherland Government-in-Exile, the Germans have been able to account for only 130,000 of the 200,000 Jews in Holland.
The newspaper said that of the 130,000, about 70,000 have already been deported and an estimated 20,000 are in concentration camps awaiting the decision of the authorities. The remainder live in Amsterdam under constant police supervision.
