The Nazi authorities in occupied France have ordered all Polish, Czech and Austrian male Jewish refugees between the ages of 17 and 55 to report to police stations for transportation to labor camps, it was reported from Paris today.
The refugees were told to take along hand luggage and food supplies for two days. The order followed the recent round-up of some 5,000 foreign Jews in the Paris area and their transportation to labor camps near Orleans.
Meanwhile, the Bordeaux stock exchange, in occupied France, has reopened and Jewish brokers have been excluded.
The Vichy Government has discontinued issuance of transit visas through Martinique because of the uncertainty of relay to the United States and to avoid accumulation of refugees in French possessions in the New World. While traffic via Martinique may be resumed after departure for the U.S. of refugees already en route, Lisbon remains the only door open for the next several weeks.
