Eight adherents of the Canadian Nazi Party, led by their self-styled commanders, John Beattie and D. Stanley, were arrested here today after they tried to stage a demonstration in a public park.
The group entered the city park, Allen Gardens, and unfurled a banner bearing the swastika. They paraded only about 50 yards when several men snatched the Nazi banner from them and trampled it. The Nazis started to run, but were rounded up by the police. They were charged with unlawful assembly and released on bail.
