The German Labor Front launched today its annual pre-Christmas campaign designed to steer prospective gift purchasers from Jewish-owned shops to those operated by “Aryans.”
The campaign, nation-wide in scope, this year is taking the form of forcing “Aryan” shops to display Labor Front insignia on their windows, to distinguish them from Jewish stores.
In Frankfurt-am-Main and Stuttgart, instructions have been issued to all Labor Front members immediately to display signs announcing that “This is a German Shop,” together with the regular Labor Front insignia.
“Aryan” merchants in Stuttgart who have hesitated to comply with the order, in fear of insulting Jewish patrons, have been warned that they will be considered with suspicion by the Nazi authorities “because something must be wrong with them.”
In Berlin, enforcement of the order is proceeding quietly and is expected to be completed before the Christmas shopping rush starts.
