Methodical elimination of Jewish specialists from various branches of industry is reported from Paris. While no decree has been issued by the occupation authorities regarding Jews in the Nazi-held zone, managements of large enterprises are being compelled gradually to replace Jewish specialists with “Aryans.”

On the other hand, measures have been taken to avoid upsetting industry by a too-drastic elimination of Jewish specialists, who, if needed, are called to unoccupied France.

Elimination of Jews has also been started in the scientific institutions connected with the University of Paris. Jewish research workers returning to Paris find their laboratories occupied by Germans arriving from the Reich. Protests of university authorities have been disregarded and they have been threatened with total requisitioning of the laboratories if they persist in retaining Jewish researchers.
