The Nazi authorities in the Czech Protectorate are determined not to leave a single Jew there, a neutral observer who arrived here today after traveling for some time throughout the territory of former Czechoslovakia declared.
This observer stated that the Nazis are accelerating the deportation of Jews from Bohemia and Moravia according to a plan which they have prepared. This plan provides that the Protectorate be completely “Judenrein” by an as yet unannounced date. On that date Slovakia, where the deportation of Jews to Nazi-held devastated sections of Russia is being conducted in the most merciless manner, is also to be cleared of Jews, the traveler said.
Jews in the Czech Protectorate have been excluded from the latest distribution of potatoes, according to other reports reaching here today. In Bratislava, capital of Slovakia, the local authorities confiscated the Jewish hospital. All Jewish inmates were thrown out and the beds are now occupied by Slovak soldiers wounded on the Russian front, the Slovakenska Pravda, a Slovakian newspaper, reports.
