This Slovak capital returned to comparative calm today after a weekend of uncertainty and excitement which yesterday saw formation of a new cabinet. Czecho-Slovak troops and gendarmes had vanished from the streets, as well as the armed Hlinka Guards and their German storm troop allies. Evidences of past disorders remained, however. A number of Jewish shops were partly wrecked by detonators set off by pro-Nazis and Slovak extremists, whose superficial alliance probably comes the closest to real understanding in their mutual anti-Semitism.
