Anti-Jewish incitement figures prominently in the broadcasts of the so-called Croatian “freedom station” established by the Nazis for propaganda in Yugoslavia.
A special talk, announced as being authorized by Dr. Anton Pavelitch, Nazi propaganda chief for Croatia, who was implicated in King Alexander’s assassination, accused the Croatian Jews of having ruined the Croatian language, culture and customs.
The broadcast charged that there were 250 Jews among the 600 physicians in Croatia and that one Jew in Zagreb owned 67 buildings. The broadcast concluded with the slogan, “Croatia for the Croats.”
