The deportation of the last 20,000 Jews from the Nazi-puppet state of Slovakia is demanded in the Slovakian Nazi newspaper Grenzbote reaching here today.
“The 20,000 Jews still remaining in our country are the most dangerous because they are the richest,” the paper declares. It is most urgent to remove them, it adds, because “they bribe Slovak officials and thus undermine public morale.” It charges them also with “spreading false rumors about the State, the Premier and the President.”
The German-Slovak Society in the city of Trnava adopted a resolution urging the Slovak government to expel all the Jews from the city. The resolution was transmitted to the central authorities in Bratislava, the Slovak press reports.
More than 100 Jews were arrested last week in Bratislava, charged with obtaining employment certificates illegally. The Guardista, organ of the anti-Semitic Hlinka Guards which was received here today, carries an article severely attacking a Slovakian cement factory for still retaining 16 Jews in its employ.
