Nearly 800 elementary and junior high school students lost half their classes since April 3 after 38 United Synagogue day school teachers began their first strike in the history of Toronto’s Hebrew day schools. Jewish studies were not affected. One of the issues involves teachers being asked to work more hours for some pay scale.
