The need for formulating a definite British policy on the refugee question in connection with the international conference on emigration called by President Roosevelt at Evian, France, beginning July 6 was stressed in the House of Commons today by Miss Eleanor Rathbone, Independent.
Miss Rathbone urged establishment of a committee to eliminate what she called the present complete lack of coordination among departments dealing with the refugee question. Richard A. Butler, Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs, promised that the Government would consider the proposal.
