Israel’s need for skilled workers was emphasized here today by Joseph S. Shapiro director-general of the Palestine Electric Corporation and president of the ORT in Israel.
Mr. Shapiro described at a press conference here the shortages of technimans and emphasized the good work of vocational training conducted by the schools operated in Israel by the ORT. He cited the textile industry as an example of a field suffering from insufficiency of trained Labor. The ORT. he reported. is now introducing new skills in Israel funs making possible new industries, such as watchmaking dental machismos and refrigeration mechanism.
