Needy Jews who remained in Paris following the German occupation are threatened with starvation due to rapidly dwindling food supplies, it was reported here today.
Two public Jewish kitchens which have been distributing 600 free meals daily in the Auteuil and Lafayette quarters, will probably have to close down due to lack of funds and the difficulty of obtaining adequate supplies, it was reported. Jewish organizations in the unoccupied zone are unable to give any help because postal and other communications with the Nazi-held areas have been interrupted for the past three weeks.
