Negotiations between the Roumanian government and leaders of the anti-Semitic student movement with a view to ending the anti-Jewish outbreaks, were continued yesterday by Minister of the Interior, Octavian Goga and Minister of Education Petrovici.
The two cabinet members received a delegation of the anti-Semitic students who presented a memorandum containing 24 demands formulated at the students congress held in Jassy.
It is understood that the first twelve demands of the students were accepted by the ministers. These demands are concerned with students’ dormitories and examinations. It was stated that the discussion between the cabinet ministers and the student leaders is to be continued.
Another anti-Jewish attack occurred here yesterday. Joseph Blumberg, a delegate of the Berlin headquarters of the Keren Hayesod, was attacked by ten Cuzists. He was thrown to the ground and brutally beaten. A large crowd witnessed the attack, encouraging the students.
The resolution adopted at the students congress in Jassy, held on December 2, the eve of outbreak of the present anti-Jewish excesses in Roumania, demanded the introduction of a numerus nullus barring Jewish students from the Roumanian colleges and universities.
