Two neo-Nazi parties in Schleswig-Holstein received a total of 15.5 percent of the total vote cast in yesterday’s provincial legislative elections, a detailed count revealed today.
The openly neo-Nazi German Reich Party received 1.5 percent and the BHE Refugee Party, whose leadership is largely recruited from the ranks of former active and prominent Nazis, received 14 percent of the votes.
The total for these two groups showed an increase since the national elections of last year when they polled nine-tenths of one percent and 11.6 percent, respectively. It is far less than the 26.2 percent the two parties chalked up in the last provincial legislative elections in 1950.
