Neo-Nazi activist Michael Kuehnen and 12 of his supporters were arrested today near the north German town of Emden. Police said they were attempting to reestablish the National Socialists Action Front which had been banned three weeks ago. The arrests today were part of the new police crackdown on extremist groups. Police actions during the last two weeks have involved searches of several apartments which were found to contain large quantities of neo-Nazi material and banned symbols such as swastikas.
