American Zionist leaders are not preventing the conclusion of an agreement between the Jewish Agency and the British government, as has been stated in some press reports from London, but they insist that if peace be made with the British government it should be “a peace with honor and with security for the future development of the Jewish National Home.”

This was the statement made here today by Emanuel Neumann, president of the Jewish National Fund of America, at the meeting which opened the Rhode Island state campaign for the J. N. F., of which the quota is $10,000. Capt. Abraham Tulin, member of the Administrative Committee of the Zionist Organization of America, was another speaker. Dr. Elie Berger, chairman of the Providence National Fund Council, presided.

“The Jews are realizing more than ever that the Jewish National Fund is one of our strongest fortifications and has therefore been most strongly attacked,” said Mr. Neumann. “Our counter-attack must come in the form of a tremendous increase in the resources of the Jewish National Fund and a corresponding increase in the land holdings in Palestine. Palestine Jewry has trebled its contribution to the Jewish National Fund since the White Paper, and there is great awakening taking place among American Zionists.”
