Dr. Emanuel Neumann, Zionist leader and president of the Tarbuth Foundation for the Advancement of Hebrew Culture in America, today nailed the presentation at the 1965 Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages of a 50-panel exhibit on Hebrew in every-day Israeli life.
Prepared by the Tarbuth Foundation in cooperation with the Central Zionist Archives in Jerusalem, the exhibition marked the first time that “Hebrew as a vital, pulsating, language of an old-new civilization was given such outstanding recognition in American education within the panorama of projections of modern languages,” Dr. Neumann declared. Israeli Deputy Premier Abba Eban is honorary chairman of the Tarbuth Foundation which operates with funds primarily endowed by Abraham and Jacob Goodman, of New York.
