New Anti-jewish Restrictions Planed in Hungary

Anti-Jewish proposals including restriction of residence, parcelling of large estates and promotion of emigration will be submitted to Parliament after Christmas, it has been decided by a special committee of the Party of National Unity. The committee meeting, under the chairmanship of Justice Minister Andrew Nagy de Tasnad, was devoted to the Jewish problem. It discussed the following proposals.

1– New regulations on local resdence rights in view of the large Jewish population in the northeastern districts and in order to prevent an influx of Jews into Budapest;

2– Parcelling of large Jewish estates and Jewish leaseholds for resettlement;

3– Promotion of Jewish emigration with provision of additioal facilities for export of Hungarian goods by the transfer of emigrants’ capital;

4– A special tax on Jewish capitalist to promote of Jews without means;

5– Modification of the 20-per-cent restriction on Jews in economic life, with possible special regulations for the various occupations taking into account the economic interests of the country and the possibility of replace Jews by non-Jews in difference trades.
